
​​Intermediate 1​
To move to the intermediate 1 class, girls must have attended continuously at least 1 full year of gymnastics before having the evaluation to move into intermediate. There are exceptions, for example: student has taken gymnastics at another school and/or students taking more than one class a week will advance and learn at a faster rate.​Below are the skills needed to move into the intermediate 1 class.

Student is comfortable walking on the high beam by themselves without a spot

Can do a backward roll to their feet on a flat floor (not on cheese mat)

Perfected bridges with straight arms

Has perfected cartwheel with correct hand order as well as starting and finishing on lunge position

Can run and punch the springboard with two feet

Has a handstand with proper foundation

Can do Handstand to bridge

Bridge kick over with mat - with straight legs

Intermediate 2
​
To move to the intermediate 2 class, girls must have mastered all skills in the intermediate 1 class.​
Students will continue to master skills from intermediate 1 while beginning to add new advance skills in the Intermediate 2:
